| WFAF: World Festival of Animated Film

WFAF, short for The World Festival of Animated Film, is a prestigious international event that showcases and celebrates the art of animation. The First World Animated Film Festival, known as “Varna ’79”, took place in October 1917 in Varna and quickly gained recognition in its early year. The festival was organized biannually under the patronage of ASIFA and was particularly significant for animators from the Soviet Bloc countries.
Since 1989, the festival was interrupted for a long time due to political and economic changes in Bulgaria. It wasn't until last year that the festival was relaunched with the support of an association of animation filmmakers established in Sofia and various other associations.
The upcoming edition of WFAF in 2023 is bringing together talented filmmakers, industry professionals, and animation enthusiasts from around the world and promises to be a captivating showcase of exceptional animated works, offering a unique and enriching experience for all attendees.
Films will compete six competitive categories (Short films, Feature films, Children's films, Students' films, Horror films and Erotic films) and will be judged in Varna by an international jury of well-known professionals with experience in filmmaking and/or university teaching. | Kilkenny Animated 2023

Kilkenny Animated is an annual festival that celebrates the art of animation in the city of Kilkenny, Ireland. The festival showcases a diverse range of animated works, including films, TV shows, shorts, and interactive experiences.
The upcoming edition of Kilkenny Animated is its 5th annual festival and is hosted by “five time Academy Award® nominated animation studio, Cartoon Saloon and award winning Lighthouse Studios.” The event will be hold from 29th September to 1st October in Kilkenny city in Ireland. | TOFUZI 2023

TOFUZI is an annual international animation festival held in Batumi to promote and support the animation industry by providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and engage in creative dialogue. The festival features a wide range of animated films, including shorts, feature films, student films, experimental works, and has become a prominent animation event in the region.
TOFUZI is now calling for entries for its film competition in multiple categories. Submissions must lower than 25 min and should be made after January 2022. Application deadline is 25st August. | CVMP 2023

CVMP is affiliated with ACM SIGGRAPH, a renowned international organization dedicated to computer graphics and interactive techniques. The conference attracts a diverse audience, including researchers, academics, students, professionals from the film and entertainment industry, as well as developers and practitioners working in visual media production and often includes demonstrations and exhibitions that showcase cutting-edge technologies, software tools, and visual media production projects.
