Dubai 3D artist Mohsen Gh has released an free 3ds Max script tool called “String Lamp Generator” that can help creators to create string lights from selected splines in their scenes.

The generator enables users to select “any line shape from your scene to serve as the foundation for your string lights”, and generate light bulbs and wires alone the line. According to the developer, “a selection of nine different types of light bulbs” are available for users to “achieve various lighting effects and aesthetics.”

The script provides a creation panel that includes adjustable options of:

1. Target line selection;

2. Light bulb type changing;

3. Individual light pulps size and overall thickness of the wire adjusting;

4. String lights rotation controlling;

5. Line distortion customization;

6. Lights offset transformation;
