Recently, Framestore shared visual effects footage from 'The Little Mermaid' on YouTube. Framestore is a British animation and visual effects studio based in Chancery Lane in London since 1986. Framestore specializes in effects for film, television, video games, and other media.

The films projects we are familiar with include 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', 'One Piece', 'Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)', 'Spider-Man',etc.

Framestore, led by visual effects supervisor Andy Kind, created Ariel's underwater kingdom, the mermaids who live there (including Ariel, King Triton and her six sisters), and her best friends Sebastian, Flounder and Blimp. Preparation of the underwater environment began almost a year before the actual filming began.

Every sea creature in the Under The Sea musical number was animated by Framestore Artists.

They used Alvin Ailey Dance Theater's choreography as a template.

Over 500 sea creatures were needs for underwater spectacular.
