Recently, Maxon has released Redshift 3.5.20, the latest version of the production renderer.
What is Redshift?
Redshift is a powerful GPU-accelerated renderer built to meet the unique needs of contemporary high-end production rendering. Designed to support creative individuals and studios of all sizes, Redshift offers a powerful set of features and integrations with industry-standard CG applications.
Unlike other GPU renderers, Redshift is a biased renderer, allowing users to adjust the quality of individual technologies to get the best performance and quality balance for their productions.
What's the new about Redshift 3.5.20
Fix the bug for all DCCs, enhances the quality and camera navigation speed when navigating a scene in Redshift RT and improves pixel-based displacement mapping performance and quality.
Moving your camera through a scene no longer reduces your render preview to a low-res, noisy scramble. With the new undersampling technique for RT, the camera navigation speed is improved and maintains a specified level of quality.
Compared to earlier version, when rendering with high-density meshes, per-pixel will displacement in RT exhibits improved performance
In the latest version RT also supports texture compression, which can reduce the amount of VRAM used by textures.
