The Adobe team has release the latest version of its well-know and widely-used digital design software, Photoshop 22.5 for PC and Photoshop 2.7 for mobile devices like iPad. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights now!

Photoshop 22.5, Features Added & Features Removed

The release of version 22.5 adds more sky images to choose, a new transform options, and a information prompt interface. Meanwhile, it also includes two important feature removals, discontinue its 3D features and no long supports SVG format file export.

The update has add more free sky images for designers to choose. To discover more, you may click Get More Skies in the Sky Preset menu and it will lead you to the Adobe Discover website.

New options has been added into the Transform Warp system, allowing users to manipulate indicators such as shapes and paths with the control points insidea split warp grid to make the transformation more flexible and precise.

Adobe also ships the Discover panel that provides more accurate and effective suggestions and tutorials based on user needs in a smarter way and Quick Actions to make the workflow more efficient.

In addition, the team has enables Photoshop on Public Beta to Creative Cloud members.

| Remove 3D function and SVG format export

An important part of this update is the removal of 3D features, including the option to import and export 3D files, 3D lighting effects, 3D text and extrusions, and spherical panorama editing.

The removing will take effect in the latest version of the software, Photoshop 22.5. Users will get notified once a week if some of the 3D features has been used with a warning message.

Adobe Warning of discontinuing Photoshop’s 3D features

For those who still want to use the 3D features, the Adobe team suggested to use version 22.2 for “up to 2 years” if uses want to have a “more stable performance”. Also, team has no plan on introducing advanced 3D features back and the Substance line of 3D products are recommended as the alternate options.

Photoshop for iPad

In addition to the update of the desktop software, Adobe also optimize the version 2.7 for mobile devices.

The iconic Photoshop feature, extract objects with magic wand, is now available in the latest version.

Canvas projection and editing synchronization is now supported for users via a HDMI or USB-C for better vision while designing.
