Let’s greet the arrival of spring by creating a tree! 3D artist and tool developer, Rahul Chaudhary, has released a “Stylized Fantasy Tree Generator” that is free for commercial use. The tool is developed based on the Geometry Nodes System of the open-source creation application, Blender. The free blender add-on is used to, as it is named, create attractive and customized 3D trees for all Blender users.
This is how you can create your trees with the Stylized Fantasy Tree Generator:
For the basic ship of the tree, the tree generator provides adjustable options to control the frequency and angle of branch, scale and density of leaf, and random distortion of the trunk.
As for materials and textures, a procedural material for bark creation, a basic solid-color material for leaves and together with the add-on that helps to generate UVs for customized textures according needs.
To make your trees looks even more real, more advanced options are planned for further updates: a vine controller to generate hanging vine, a procedural system to create falling leaves, a wind animation system for more vivid scenes and more variation in bark texture.
Stylized Fantasy Tree Generator requires Blender 3.1 and is currently in public beta and the support for Blender 3.0 LTS is said to be “soon”. You may check out the artist's Twitter page to keep up with the latest developments of the tool and click here to download the tree generator for free (the file is licensed CC-0 so you can use it for both personal and commercial projects).
