On the annual Pokémon Day of 2023, Monday, February 27th, the Pokémon Company has announced a series of news about the upcoming games and updates to this well-known IP.
During the 25-minute Pokémon Presents live broadcast, many long-waited news came one after another, making all the fans go crazy! Highlights including the first Pokémon World Championships coming this year, the re-release of its original Pokémon trading card game, a new stop-motion animation called Pokémon Concierge and more. | Pokémon Sleep
Pokémon Sleep is a mobile game known as part of the Pokémon series for Android and iOS. The game was first announced on May 28, 2019, and was planned to be released in 2020. It takes all the fans almost four years of waiting to finally see the dawn!
The game is aims to "turn sleeping into entertainment by having a player's time spent sleeping, and the time they wake up, affect the gameplay," letting players "wake up with Pokémon every morning."
In addition, the Pokémon Company also released a small kit named Pokémon GO Plus + (Plus Plus), which will connect to the game via Bluetooth and helps to measure your sleep data in an easier and more accurate way.
According to the announcement in the Pokémon Presents live broadcast, Pokémon Sleep will be released in summer 2023, and Pokémon GO Plus + will be released on July 14, 2023.
| Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Later in the year, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will get new DLC expansion, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The DLC will be broken up into two parts: The Teal Mask, planned for a fall 2023 release on Nintendo Switch, and The Indigo Disk, planned for a winter 2023 release.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are two role-playing game set in the Spain-influenced Paldea region. Both the game largely follow the same basic gameplay structure of previous Pokémon games, where players obtain creatures known as Pokémon, primarily through catching and trading and use them to explore the world and battle other Pokémon trainers.
The main difference between Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is in color and theme, and players may choose according to your preferences.
| Pokémon Concierge
In addition to the updating to games, the Pokémon Company has teamed up with Netflix to launch a new original stop-motion animated series, Pokémon Concierge.
Pokémon Concierge will expand on the Pokémon universe and tells the story of a concierge named Haru and the many Pokémon that visit as guests. Give a watch of the new trailer released by the official! Simply with a Psyduck walking slowly on the beach, along with the sound of waves, so healing!

During the livestream, the company also announced that a Pokémon World Championships will be held in Japan for the first time ever. The game will be hold from Aug. 11-13 at the Pacifico Yokohama and players will compete in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokémon trading card game, and Pokémon Unite.
