XRender has reached a cooperation with Chaos group and now officially supports all versions of Corona Renderer and V-Ray Renderer.

Corona Renderer is an integrated solution for selected 3D applications that developed for artists by artists. It is both biased and unbiased renderer that's capable of outputting photorealistic visuals.

The latest version, Corona Render 6 for 3ds Max and Corona Render 6 for Cinema 4D was released in August 2020, aiming to “attain greater realism and be more creative, while also speeding up your workflow”.

XRender, authorized by Chaos Group, is now officially supports all versions of Corona Renderer and V-Ray Renderer, including the on-going version Corona Renderer 7.

Let’s take a look at some of the features coming up in Corona Renderer 7, which is due to ship in 2021.

The Corona Volume Grid enbles users of Corona Renderer for 3ds Max to render volumes in OpenVDB format.

New features in the Cinema 4D edition include import and rendering of OpenVDB files. Both editions will get improved tone mapping, a new PBR material, and better material interoperability.

Some of the features that have been announced were actually begun during work on version 6, including the new Corona Volume Grid in the Cinema 4D edition.

The Cinema 4D edition will also support the Multi-Instances system introduced in Cinema 4D R20.

Both editions will get updates to the tonemapping system, intended to enable users to complete post work within Corona’s VFB, rather than having to export images to software like Photoshop.

Reworking Tone Mapping

The online roadmap also lists a “new (faster) colour picker” not covered in Chaos Czech’s blog post.

The Corona Renderer 7 that we supports now uses the test version released on the official website on December 10th and we will upgrade to the latest version simultaneously as the Chaos Group goes.
